Weakness: weak audio and continued poor programming
i am going to return this (which is why i only buy garmin stuff from costco)you would think they would start cleaning up some of their goof's in the programming. I have about three where you are driving down the highway nd it wants you to turn left (where there is no road) one of which would take you over a 150 foot cliff into a river bed..also one would think theye could borrow a speaker system...
Strengths: Good marketing
Weakness: Can't keep track of where it is. Gets lost and suggest wrong turns. If you pull of to get gas or eat lunch, 50% of the time it sends you the wrong way on startup. The browse map feature is useless.
There are some real bad algorithms in this unit or it would not get lost so much. If you lose the satellite signal when it comes back on it is confused, and it gives you bad directions. Garmin, you ought to put a delay between getting a satellite signal and starting directions. Garmin missed the mark on the nuvi 855
Strengths: Voice recognition
Weakness: Micro SD and ON/OFF switch
I sold my nuvi 750 to purchase the nuvi 855. Garmin changed the on/off switch from something you could use to something you have to fumble to turn on and off. I didn't think they would dump the SD memory card, so I didn't give it a thought when I bought the 855. Garmin switched to a Micro SD memory. The volume on the 855 is lower than the nuvi 750, even on max. Garmin told me that the nuvi 855...
